The 3rd International Workshop on IT Service & Cloud Computing (ISCC 2011)

Co-organizers: Jongjung Woo, Ching-Hsien Hsu, Sang-Soo Yeo
URL: http://web.ftrai.org/iscc2011/
Abstract
The 3rd International Workshop on IT Service & Cloud Computing (ISCC 2011) will be held June 28-30, 2011 in Crete, Greece. ISCC 2011 is one of registered workshops of FutureTech 2011. The ISCC 2011 is the next event, in a series of highly successful International Workshop on Network Assurance, previously held as NA 2008, Sanya, China, December 2008 (http://www.sersc.org/NA2008) and NA 2007, Jeju, Korea, December 2007 (http://www.sersc.org/NA2007). IT Service (IS) is a discipline for managing information technology (IT) systems, philosophically centered on the customer's perspective of IT's contribution to the business. IS stands in deliberate contrast to technology-centered approaches to IT management and business interaction. Cloud Computing (CC) is Internet-based computing, whereby shared servers provide resources, software, and data to computers and other devices on demand, as with the electricity grid. Cloud computing is a natural evolution of the widespread adoption of virtualization, service-oriented architecture and utility computing. Details are abstracted from consumers, who no longer have need for expertise in, or control over, the technology infrastructure "in the cloud" that supports them. The ISCC 2011 will be the most comprehensive workshop focused on the various aspects of IT Services and Cloud Computing. The ISCC 2011 will provide an opportunity for academic and industry professionals to discuss the latest issues, progress, projects, research cooperation, and new idea in the areas of IS and CC. In addition, the conference will publish high quality papers which are closely related to the various theories and practical applications in IS and CC, with Springer's CCIS series. Furthermore, we expect that the conference and its publications will be a trigger for further related research and technology improvements in this important subject.

The 2011 International Workshop on Intelligent Transportation Systems and Applications (ITSA-11)

Co-organizers: Young-Sik Jeong, Naveen Chilamkurti, Whai-En Chen
URL: http://www.ftrai.org/itsa2011/
Abstract
The development of intelligent transport systems (ITS) brings the promise of improved road safety and comfortable/ infotainment driving environments. Recent advances of wireless vehicular communications supporting vehicle-tovehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications have become a cornerstone of ITS. Wireless vehicular communications for ITS is one of the most interesting and active research topics, which is requiring vital efforts from both the industry and the academic. With the advent of the social computing era, ITSA 2011 aims at reporting the most recent progresses, trends, and concerns in this rapidly growing area. This workshop will provide a forum for participants from ITS and publish state-of-art research papers. Furthermore, we expect that the workshop and its publications will trigger related research and technology innovation in this important subject.

The 5th International Workshop on Forensics for Future Generation Communication environments (F2GC-11)

Co-organizers: Changhoon Lee, Hanshin University, Korea
URL: http://www.ftrai.org/f2gc2011/
Abstract
Future Generation Communication environments (FGC) are advanced communication and networking environments where all applications and services are focused on users. In addition, the FGC has emerged rapidly an exciting new paradigm to provide reliable and comfortable life services. Furthermore, the benefits of FGC will only be realized if security issues can be appropriately addressed. Specially, forensics for FGC is very important in the security fields. This workshop is intended to foster state-of-the-art research forensics in the area of FGC including information and communication technologies, law, social sciences and business administration.

The 2nd FTRA International Workshop on Multimedia and Semantic Technologies (MUST'11)

Co-organizers: Seungmin Rho, Marco Bertini, Gamhewage C. de Silva, Stephan Kopf
URL: http://www.ftrai.org/must2011/
Abstract
The 2nd FTRA International Workshop on Multimedia and Semantic Technologies (MUST'11) aims at high quality research contributions in multimedia semantic computing, with a focus on how to apply the semantic technologies to the acquisition, generation, storage, processing, and retrieval of large-scale multimedia information. A main goal of MUST is to address emerging research challenges in Semantic Multimedia and to help reducing the Semantic Gap between low-level content descriptions of multimedia and the semantics in high-level human interpretations of audiovisual media. Semantic Web and multimedia community researchers are encouraged to join the workshop to benefit from the presentation of results from multimedia based research, which demonstrate important multimedia applications which could be enhanced by Semantic Web technologies.

The 2011 International Workshop on Social Computing, Network, and Services (SocialComNet 2011)

Co-organizers: Kae Won Choi, Katarzyna Wegrzyn-Wolska, Nasrullah Memon, Dion Goh
URL: http://www.ftrai.org/socialcomnet2011/
Abstract
Recently, social computing and networking has been driving dramatic evolution in the way people communicate and interact with each other, attracting great attention from the research community as well as the business world. Social computing not only includes Web 2.0 elements such as blogs, twitter, and wikis, etc, but also stands for a collection of the technologies that gather, process, compute, and visualize social information and the studies that model and analyze dynamics of participants in social networks.
With the advent of the social computing era, SocialComNet-2011 aims at reporting the most recent progresses, trends, and concerns in this rapidly growing area. This workshop will provide a forum for participants from the computing and social science communities and publish state-of-art research papers. Furthermore, we expect that the workshop and its publications will trigger related research and technology innovation in this important subject.
